The First Years is dedicated to providing parents with safe, high-quality products. In line with this mission, we have issued a
voluntary recall on the following items:
- Three liquid filled teethers sold between July 2005 and January 2006 due to possible bacterial contamination.
The liquid inside the teethers may contain pseudomonas aeruginosa and pseudomonas putida which can cause
serious illness in children if the teether is punctured and the liquid from the teether is ingested.
The teethers being recalled are listed below:
- Y1474 - Floating Friends Teether
- Y3095 - Chill & Chew Teether
- Y1473 - Cool Animal Teether
- Two infant play items sold between August 2005 and October 2006 under the following names:
The First Years "Shake 'n Jingle Key" (Item#Y2852 - Barcode 0071463028528) and John Deere
"Real Keys" (Item# LC25101 - Barcode 007967425101). Learning Curve Australia has determined that
due to manufacturing issues, the material on the upper portion of the keys may contain cracks, which
could result in the release of small parts and /or a sharp edge.
The toy keys being recalled are listed below:
- Y2852 - The First Years "Shake 'n Jingle Keys"
- LC25101 - John Deere "Real Keys"
Consumers should stop using the teethers and toy keys immediately.
No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date in connection with these problems.
Consumers should place the recalled teether in its current condition in a sealed plastic bag and send to:
